The standard solution, with interpreters present and using appropriate audio equipment, is the most costly but also the most effective. Remote simultaneous interpreting, or live interpreting via participants’ smartphones result in substantial savings but are only suitable for very specific kinds of events. The purpose of these systems is just to improve the services provided. The human element remains central to the event.
